Description

The largest ammonit in the world: 80 Mio years old, measuring 1,80 m in diameter and weighing 3,5 tons. Replicas of this fossil are exhibited in museums all over the world. We saw it at  Meeresmuseum Stralsund . The original was found in 1895 in a stone quarry in Seppenrade (Münster).

Parapuzosia seppenradensis. The living animal could have been anywhere from 2.5 to 3.5 meters in diameter. Very impressive!
